You say, فِى الأَرْضِ قُوَبٌ In the ground are hollows [app. meaning round hollows: see 1, first sentence]. (A.) And فِى رَأْسِهِ وَجِلْدِهِ قُوَبٌ In his head and his skin are pits. (A, TA.) ― -b2- And hence ↓ القُوَبَاآءُ. (A.) See قُوَبَاآءُ, in two places. ― -b3- It signifies [also] Egg-shells. (O, K.)
