(A, Msb.) -A2- تناهدوا; (S, Mgh, L, K;) and ↓ ناهدوا, (L, Msb,) inf. n. مُنَاهَدَةٌ; (Msb;) They clubbed, i. e. contributed equally to, the expenses which they had to incur, (S, Mgh, L, K,) on the occasion of a journey, (K,) or an expedition against an enemy; (L;) or contributed equal shares of food and drink: (ISd, L:) the first who instituted this practice is said to have been Hudeyn Er-Rakáshee: (TA:) or they contributed, each giving his share, for the purchase of wheat, or food, for their eating in common. (Msb.) ― -b2- تناهدوا الشَّىْءَ They took the thing and shared it between them. (L.) -A3- تناهدوا They played together the game of morra, described in one of the explanations of نَاهَدَهُ.
