منء

مَنِيْئَةٌ ذ A hide in the first stage of tanning: (AZ, S, K:) it is next called أَفِيقٌ; and then أَدِيمٌ: (AZ, S:) or a hide as long as it remains in the tanning-liquid. (TA.) ― -b2- A place where hides are tanned. (As, Ks, S, K.) ― -b3- Also, accord. to some, Tan, or that with which one tans. (TA.) ― -b4- This word is not to be pronounced without ء, because مَنِيَّةٌ signifies “ death. ” (MF.)
