مطر

مُسْتَمْطِرٌ ذ [ Asking, begging, or praying, for rain. ― -b2- Hence,] (tropical:) Seeking, desiring, or demanding, beneficence, or bounty, (Lth, K,) from a man. (Lth.) You say, مَا أَنَا مِنْ حَاجَتِى عِنْدَكَ بِمُسْتَمْطِرٍ (tropical:) I am not covetous of obtaining from thee the object of my want. (IAar.) ― -b3- (tropical:) A place needing rain. (A, K.) ― -b4- (tropical:) Silent; not speaking [when spoken to, as though desiring that words should pour upon him like rain]. (K.) -A2- [One] on whom rain has fallen. (K.)
