5 تمرّط الشَّعَرُ ذ , (S, K,) quasi-pass. of مَرَّطَهُ, (TA,) The hair fell off by degrees; became scattered; (S, * K;) as also ↓ اـِمَّرَطَ, of the measure اـِفْتَعَلَ, [originally امترط,] (K,) or, [rather,] as in the TS, of the measure اـِنْفَعَلَ, [originally اـِنْمَرَطَ,] quasi-pass. of مَرَطَهُ. (TA.) [In like manner] you say also, تمرّطت أَوْبَارُ الاـِبِلِ The fur of the camels became scattered. (TA.) And قُذَذُ السَّهْمِ ↓ اـِمَّرَطَتْ The feathers of the arrow fell off. (TA, from a trad.) And تمرّط الذِّئْبُ The hair of the wolf fell off until little thereof remained upon him. (TA.) [See also مَرِطَ.]
