2 جمّل جمل جملة , (S, K,) inf. n. تَجْمِيلٌ, (K,) He, or it, embellished, or adorned, another. (S, K.) Hence the saying, اـِذَا لَمْ يُجَمِّلْكَ مَالُكَ لَمْ يُجْدِ عَلَيْكَ جَمَالُكَ [ If thy wealth do not embellish thee, thy beauty of person, or of moral character, will not suffice thee ]. (TA.) And you say, جَمَّلَ ا@للّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ, inf. n. as above, meaning, May God render him beautiful. (TA.) -A2- He gave a camel to be eaten. (K in art. برقش.) -A3- He detained an army long [ on the frontier of the enemy ]; (K, TA;) like جَمَّرَ [q. v.]. (TA.)
