Root entry · 1 derived lemma10 استجّم أستجم استجم ٱستجم , as an intrans. verb: see 1, in five places. ― -b2- It is said in a trad., مَنْ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَسْتَجِمَّ لَهُ النَّاسُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ, i. e. [ Whoso loveth that men ] should collect themselves to him, standing in his presence, and confining themselves to him, [ let him take his sitting-place in the fire of Hell:] or, accord. as some relate it, يستخمّ; see art. خم; (TA;) and, as some, يَسْتَخِيمَ. (TA in art. خيم, q. v.) ― -b3- استجمّت الأَرْضُ The land put forth its plants, or herbage, (K, TA,) so that it became like the [ hair termed ] جمّة [i. e. جُمَّة]. (TA.) -A2- As a trans. verb: see 1, near the end of the paragraph, in two places: ― -b2- and see 4. ― -b3- اُسْتُجِمَّتْ جَمَّةُ المَاآءِ [ The supply of water that had collected after drawing ] was drunk.
