(S.) ― -b2- سَنَةٌ مُجْحِفَةٌ A year that renders the cattle lean: or a year that destroys people, or impoverishes them, or injures them, (تُجْحِفُ بِهِمْ,) by slaughter, or by marring, or destroying, the cattle. (TA.) ― -b3- And مُجْحِفَةٌ, alone, A calamity; (K;) because it extirminates people. (TA.)
