جبن

مَجْبَنَةٌ مجبنه مجبنة [ A cause of cowardice, or weak-heartedness ]. One says, الوَلَدُ مَجْبَنَةٌ مَبْخَلَةٌ [ Children are a cause of cowardice and a cause of niggardliness ]; because one loves continuance of life, and property, on account of them. (S, TA.)
