غَيَّةٌ ذ : see غَىٌّ. ↓ غَوَّةٌ and غَيَّةٌ signify the same. ― -b2- [Hence,] وَلَدُ غَيَّةٍ, and ↓ غِيَّةٍ, (K, TA,) but the latter is said by Lh to be rare, (TA,) The offspring of fornication or adultery; (K, TA;) contr. of وَلَدُ رِشْدَةٍ. (TA.) And one says also ↓ اِبْنُ الغَىِّ [meaning The son of fornication or adultery ]. (L in art. بهث.) And هُوَ لِغَيَّةٍ, (S, Msb,) and ↓ لِغِيَّةٍ, said in reviling a person, He is, or was, unlawfully begotten; (Msb;) contr. of لِرِشْدَةٍ. (S.)
