1 غَلِطَ ذ , (S, Msb, K,) aor. غَلَطَ , (S, K,) inf. n. غَلَطٌ (S, M, Msb, K) and أُغْلُوطَةٌ, (JK,) He made a mistake; committed an error; or missed, or erred from, the right way or mode or manner: (Msb:) or he was unable to find the right way, (JK, M, K,) and knew it not: (M, K:) in an affair; (S;) in anything; (JK;) in reckoning, or computation, &c.: (K:) or in his speech, (S, Msb, K,) in particular; (K;) and غَلِتَ in reckoning, or computation: (S, and so in some copies of the K:) but some of the Arabs make these two verbs to be syn. dial. variants.
