غفص

غَافِصَةٌ ذ A sudden, or an unexpected, calamity, of time, or fortune: (Sgh, * K, * TK:) pl. غَوَافِصُ. (A.) You say, وَقَاكَ ا@للّٰهُ غَوَافِصَ الدَّهْرِ [ May God preserve thee from the sudden, or unexpected, calamities of time, or fortune ]. (A.)
