(T, S, M, A, O, L, K.) One says, فُلَانٌ يَمْشِى عَلَى الأَرْضِ فَيَّادًا مَيَّادًا [ Such a one walks upon the ground ] with an elegant and a proud and self-conceited gait, &c. (A.) ― -b2- Hence, الفَيَّادُ is said to signify The lion. (O.) ― -b3- And The male of the بُوم [or owl ]: (T, S, M, O, K:) or i. q. الصَّدَى [which is also said to signify the male of the بُوم: for other explanations see صَدًى] (S, O.) ― -b4- And ↓ فَيَّادَةٌ, (M,) or this and فَيَّادٌ, (T, S, O, K,) One who collects together what he can, and eats it.
