(TA.) You say, أَدَارَ العِمَامَةَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ [ He wound the turban round upon his head ]. (A.) And ادار الزَّعْفَرَانَ فِى المَاآءِ [ He stirred round the saffron in the water, in dissolving it]. (A and TA in art. دوم.) And بِهِ دَوَائِرُ الزَّمَانِ ↓ دَارَتْ [ The revolutions of fortune, or time, made him to turn round from one state, or condition, to another]. (A.) And بِهِ ↓ دِيرَ, and أُدِيرَ بِهِ, (S, A, K,) and عَلَيْهِ ↓ دِيرَ (K,) [the first and second lit. signifying He was made to turn round; by which, as by the third also, is meant] he became affected by a vertigo, or giddiness in the head. (S, * A, * K. [See also 1.]) ― -b2- ادارهُ عَلَى الأَمْرِ He endeavoured [ to turn him to the thing, i. e.] to induce him to do the thing: and ادارهُ عَنْهُ he endeavoured [ to turn him from it, i. e.] to induce him to leave, or relinquish, it; (T, A;) or i. q. لَاوَصَهُ; as also ↓ دَاوَرَهُ, q. v. (M, K.) ― -b3- اـِدَارَةٌ [the inf. n.] also signifies The giving and taking, from hand to hand, without delay: and agreeably with this explanation is rendered the phrase in the Kur [ii. 282], لِجَارَةٌ حَاضِرَةٌ تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ Ready merchandise, which ye give and take among yourselves, from hand to hand, without delay; i. e., not on credit].
