بطر

بِيَطْرٌ بيطر : see بَيْطَارٌ. ― -b2- [Hence,] A tailor. (Sh, S, * K.) A poet says, (calling a tailor a بيطر, like as one calls a skilful man an اـِسْكَاف, Sh, TA,) شَقَّ البِيَطْرِ مِدْرَعَ الهُمَامِ [ Like as the tailor cuts lengthwise, or slits, the woollen tunic of the valiant chief ]. (Sh, S.)
