بضع

مُسْتَبْضِعٌ مستبضع . It is said in a prov., كَمُسْتَبْضِعِ تَمْرٍ اـِلَى هَجَرٍ [ Like the taker of dates as merchandise to Hejer ]; because Hejer is [famous as] the place of production (مَعْدِن) of dates. (S.) مستبضع is here made trans. by means of الى because it has the meaning of حَامِل. (TA.)
