(A.) You say ثَوْبٌ جَيِّدُ البُصْرِ A thick garment or piece of cloth. (M.) صُبْرٌ, formed by transposition, signifies the same. (S in art. صبر.) ― -b2- A side: (S, M, K:) the edge of anything: (S, K:) formed by transposition from صُبْرٌ. (M.) -A2- Cotton: (K:) whence بَصِيرَةٌ signifying “an oblong piece of cotton cloth.” (TA.) -A3- See also بَصْرَةٌ.
