You say, فِى فُلَانٍ طَيْرَةٌ and ↓ طَيْرُورَةٌ, (tropical:) In such a one is levity, or inconstancy. (S.) And ↓ اُزْجُرْ أَحْنَاآءَ طَيْرِكَ (tropical:) [alluding to the original signification of طَيْرٌ, namely, “ birds, ”] means جَوَانِبَ خِفَّتِكَ وَطَيْشِكَ [agreeing with an explanation of the same saying voce حِنْوٌ, q. v.]. (S.) ― -b2- Also طَيْرَةٌ (assumed tropical:) A slip; a stumble: hence the trad., اـِيَّاكَ وَطَيْرَاتِ الشَّبَابِ (assumed tropical:) Beware thou of the slips and stumbles of youth. (TA.)
