حطم

حَطْمَةٌ حطم حطمه حطمة The crowding, thronging, or pressing, of men; and their pushing one another. (TA.) ― -b2- The tide (دُفْعَة) of a torrent; like طَحْمَةٌ. (S.) ― -b3- The havoc of a lion among cattle. (TA.) ― -b4- (tropical:) Dearth, drought, or sterility; or a year of dearth, &c.; (S, K, TA;) because it breaks (تَحْطِمُ) everything; (TA;) as also ↓ حُطْمَةٌ and ↓ حَاطُومٌ: (K:) or this last is not used except as meaning continual dearth &c.
