حصن

[ حُصَيْنٌ حصين dim. of حِصْنٌ. ― -b2- Hence,] أَبُوالحُصَيْنِ The fox; syn. الثَّعْلَبُ; (S, K;) so called because of his protecting himself from causes of harm by his acuteness; (Har p. 663;) as also أَبُو ↓ الحِصْنِ. (M, K.)
