حسن

مَحْسَنَةٌ محسن محسنه محسنة [ A cause of good: pl., app., ↓ مَحَاسِنُ; like as مَسَاوٍ, originally مَسَاوِئُ, is said to be pl. of مَسَاآءَةٌ, originally مَسْوَأَةٌ]. You say, هٰذَا الطَّعَامُ مَحْسَنَةٌ لِلْجِسْمِ [ This food is a cause of good, i. e. beneficial, to the body ]. (S.)
