حبس

حَبْسٌ حبس A place of confinement, restriction, imprisonment, or the like; a prison; a jail; (A, Msb;) as also ↓ مَحْبَسٌ, (Lth, A, TA,) which is also an inf. n.; (Lth, TA;) or, accord. to analogy, ↓ مَحْبِسٌ: (Sb, TA:) pl. of the first, حُبُوسٌ; (Msb;) and of the second [and third], مَحَابِسُ.
