عى

عَيَاآءٌ ذ An incurable disease; (K;) a difficult disease, for which there is no cure; as though it disabled, or baffled, (أَعْيَا,) the physicians. (S.) [Hence,] one says, الدَّاآءُ العَيَاآءُ الحُمْقُ [ The disease for which there is no cure is stupidity ]. (TA.) ― -b2- See also عَيَايَاآءُ.
