عم

عِمَّةٌ ذ A mode of attiring oneself with the turban: so in the saying, هُوَ حَسَنُ العِمَّةِ [ He is comely in respect of the mode of attiring himself with the turban ]. (S, K.) ― -b2- [And it is vulgarly used as meaning A turban itself, like عِمَامَةٌ; and is used in this sense in the TA in art. علم: see عَلَمْتُ عِمَّتِى near the end of the first paragraph of that art.]
