Q. Q. 1 عَلْوَنَ الكِتَابَ ذ , (S, K,) inf. n. عَلْوَنَةٌ and عُلْوَانٌ, (K,) i. q. عَنْوَنَهُ [ He put a superscription, or title, to the book, or writing; or he wrote the superscription, or title, thereof ]; (S, K;) as also الكِتَابَ ↓ عَلَّى; (K;) which latter is the more agreeable with analogy.
