عَلَفَةٌ ذ The food, or victuals, of soldiers; as also ↓ عُلُوفَةٌ [which is a pl. of ↓ عَلَفٌ, or perhaps it is correctly ↓ عَلُوفَةٌ, which is expl. by Golius as meaning a stipend, peculiarly of a soldier ]. (KL.)
