عَقِصٌ ذ Sand accumulated, or congested, in which there is no way: (S, O, K:) said to be syn. with عَقِدٌ: and ↓ عَقَصَةٌ signifies sand like such as is termed سِلْسِلَةٌ [q. v.]; or عَقَصَةٌ and ↓ عَقِصَةٌ, as expl. by Aboo-'Alee, signify sand contorted, one part upon another, and extended; like عَقَدَةٌ and عَقِدَةٌ. (TA.) ― -b2- And The neck of the كَرِش [or stomach of a ruminant animal ]. (IF, O, K. [In the CK, for وَعُنُقُ الكَرِشِ is erroneously put وكعُنُقٍ الكَرِشُ; after which a و should have been inserted.]) ― -b3- Also, (S, O, K,) and ↓ عِقِّيصٌ, (O, K,) and ↓ عَيْقَصٌ, (IDrd, O, K,) and ↓ أَعْقَصُ, (TA,) (tropical:) Niggardly, stingy, or close-handed, (S, O, K, TA,) and evil in disposition: (S:) and عقيص [app. ↓ عِقِّيصٌ, or perhaps ↓ عَقِيصٌ,] signifies evil and perverse in disposition.
