عقد

مُعَقَدٌ ذ [ Tied in many knots ]. One says خُيُوطٌ مُعَقَّدَةٌ [ Threads, or strings, tied in many knots ]: the latter word being with teshdeed to denote muchness, or multiplicity. (S, O, L.) ― -b2- And [hence] applied to language, (S, O, L, K,) as meaning Rendered obscure: (S, O, L:) or [simply] obscure.
