8 اـِعْتَطَفَ see 5. ― -b2- [Hence,] اعتطف القَوْسَ He hung upon himself the bow, putting its suspensory belt or cord upon his neck or shoulder; (IAar, TA;) and so السَّيْفَ the sword. (TA.)
