عَارِنٌ ذ : see its fem., with ة, voce عِرَانٌ, last sentence but one, in two places. -A2- العَارِنُ The lion: (K:) [app. a possessive epithet, meaning ذُو العَرِينِ: but he is said to be thus called] because of his abominable nature, and his strength. (TA.)
