عَجْمٌ ذ The young of camels; (S, Msb, K, TA;) such as the بَنَات لَبُون and حِقَاق and جِذَاع: (IAar, S, * Msb, * TA:) thus far: (S, Msb:) when they have entered upon the state of اـِثْنَاآء, they are of the جِلَّة thereof: (IAar, TA:) applied to the male and to the female: (S, Msb, K:) pl. عُجُومٌ [app. meaning young camels of different ages not exceeding the age of the جَذَع]. (S, K.) -A2- And The root, or base, of the tail; (S, Msb, K;) which is the عُصْعُص; (S, Msb;) as also ↓ عُجْمٌ; (K;) like عَجْبٌ [and عُجْبٌ]; (S, Msb;) [each] a dial. var. of عجب; (Msb;) or, accord. to Lh, the م is a substitute for the ب of عجب.
