عجل
Root entry · 1 derived lemmaعَجُولٌ ذ : see عَجِلٌ. ― -b2- Also A she camel distracted, or confounded, or perplexed, having lost her young one; (S, O, K; *) because of her quickness in her motions, (K, TA,) i. e. in her coming and going, (TA,) by reason of impatience: (K, TA:) and a woman bereft of her child: pl. عُجُلٌ, (O, K,) and, accord. to the K, عَجَائِلُ, but correctly ↓ مَعَاجِلُ, as in the L, an anomalous pl. (TA.) ― -b3- And العَجُولُ signifies Death, or the decree of death; syn. المَنِيَّةُ: (AA, K, TA:) because it [often] hurries him whom it befalls so as to prevent him from reaching his family.
