Root entry · 1 derived lemmaضِجْعَةٌ ذ A mode, or manner, of lying upon the side [or in any posture ], (S, O, Msb, K,) or of sleeping. (TA.) ― -b2- And (assumed tropical:) Sluggishness, laziness, or indolence. (K, TA.) ― -b3- Also, for ذَاتُ ضِجْعَةٍ, (assumed tropical:) A bed. (JM. [See also مَضْجَعٌ.]) It is said in a trad. that the ضِجْعَة of the Apostle of God was of skins, (IAth, JM, TA,) stuffed with fibres of the palm-tree: (IAth, TA:) meaning his bed. (JM.)
