(M, K.) You say, مَضَى اـِنْىٌ مِنَ الَّيْلِ and ↓ اـِنْوٌ [&c.] A time, or season, [&c.,] (وَقْتٌ, [&c.,]) of the night passed: (M in art. انو:) dual اـِنْيَانِ and اـِنْوَانِ. (S.) And a poet says, أَتَمَّتْ حَمْلَهَا فِى بَعْضِ شَهْرٍ وَحَمْلُ الحَامَلَاتِ اـنًى طَوِيلُ [ She completed her gestation in a portion of a month; but the gestation of the pregnant in general is a long period of time ]. (IAar, T.) Another uses the phrase ضَحَّاكُ الأُنِىْ, occurring at the end of a verse, [for ضحّاك الأُنِىِّ,] meaning Found to be laughing whenever one comes to him. (M.)
