اخذ

مَأْخَذْ ذ [ A place where, or whence, a thing is taken: pl. مَاآخِذُ.] [Hence,] مَاآخِذُ الطَّيْرِ The places whence birds are taken. (K, TA.) ― -b2- [ The source of derivation of a word or phrase or meaning.] ― -b3- A way [which one takes]; as in the phrase, المَأْخَذَ الأَقْرَبَ سَلَكَ He went the nearest way.
