ذهب

مَذْهَبَةٌ ذ [ A cause, or means, of doing away with, removing, dispelling, or banishing ]. Fasting is said, in a trad., to be مَذْهَبَةٌ لِلْأَشَرِ [i. e. (assumed tropical:) A cause, or means, of dispelling exultation, or excessive exultation, and resting the mind upon things agreeable with natural desire ]. (T and S voce مَحْسَمَةٌ, q. v.)
