Root entry · 1 derived lemma3 شَارَكْتُ فُلَانًا ذ , (S, TA,) inf. n. مُشَارَكَةٌ, (TK,) [ I shared, participated, or partook, with such a one; ] I was, or became, the شَرِيك [or copartner &c.] of such a one. (S, TA.) El-Jaadee says, وَشَارَكْنَا قُرَيْشًا فِى تُقَاهَا العِنَانِ ↓ وَفِى أَحْسَابِهَا شِرْكَ [ And we shared with Kureysh in their piety and in their several grounds of pretension to respect, with a sharing exclusive of other properties ].
