شُبَّاكٌ ذ : see شَبَكَةٌ, in two places: ― -b2- and شِبَاكٌ, likewise in two places: ― -b3- and شُبَّاكَةٌ, also in two places. ― -b4- Applied to a دِرْع i. q. مَحْبُوكَةٌ [app. as signifying Woven well, or well and compactly; in which sense this epithet seems to be more properly applicable to a woman's “shift” than to “a coat of mail;” but دِرْعٌ in the former of these senses is seldom, if ever, fem.; and in the latter sense, seldom, if ever, masc.]. (TA.) -A2- [It is also a pl., of which the sing., if used, is probably ↓ شَابِكٌ, accord. to analogy; as a possessive epithet, meaning ذُو شَبَكَةٍ, like لَابِنٌ meaning ذُو لَبَنٍ, &c.:] one says, رَأَيْتُ عَلَى المَاآءِ الشُّبَّاكَ I saw, upon the water, the fishermen with the nets.
