النّص: ه إِن رُمْتَ عَيْشَاً نَاعِمًا وَرَقِيْقَا فاسْلُكْ إليهِ مِنَ الفُنُونِ طَرِيقًا واجعَل حياتَكَ غَضَةً بالشعر والت تمثيل والـتـصـويـر والمـوسـيـقـا تلك الفنون المشتهاة هي التي غُصْنُ الحياة بها يَكُونُ وَريقا وهي التي تجلو النفوس فتمتلي منها الوُجُوهُ تلألُوا وَبَرِيْقَا ي التي بِمَذَاقِها ومَشَاقِهَا يُمسي الغَليظُ مِنَ الطَّبَاعِ رقيقًا تلكَ الفنونُ فَطِرْ إلى سَعَةِ بها إن كُنتَ تشكو في الحياة الضّيقا فهي ابتســامــات الــدنــا وبـغـيرهـا مَا كَانَ وَجْهُ الحادثاتِ طليقا أرقى الشُّعُوبِ تَمَدُّنَا وحَضَارَةً مَنْ كَانَ مِنْهُم في الفنونِ عَرِيْقَا شرحُ المُفردات رمت : طلبت. غضَّةٌ: نَضِرةٌ. تجلو: توضح وتكشف. طليق مشرق. عريق: أصيل. مشاقها: محاسِنُها 44

Text: If you seek a soft and delicate life, then take the path of the arts toward it. Make your life fresh with poetry, acting, painting, and music. Those desired arts are what make the branch of life lush. They are what polish the souls, so faces fill with radiance and sparkle. They are what, through their taste and challenges, make the coarse of nature gentle. Those arts, fly toward the vastness they offer if you complain of narrowness in life. They are the smiles of the world, and without them, the face of events would not be bright. The most advanced peoples in civilization and culture are those who are deeply rooted in the arts.
