بَابُ فَضْلِ السُّنَنِ الرَّاتِبَةِ مَعَ الْفَرَائِضِ وَبَيَانِ أَقَلِّهَا وَأَكْمَلِهَا وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا. وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: إِنْ صَلَّيْتَ رَاتِبَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرْبَعٌ، وَإِنْ صَلَّيْتَهَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَكْعَتَانِ؛ لِأَنَّ الرَّسُولَ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا فِي الْبَيْتِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَقَالَ: «صَلُّوا بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَرْبَعًا»، فَإِنْ صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرْبَعٌ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَكْعَتَانِ، وَالْأَمْرُ فِي هَذَا وَاسِعٌ - إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ - لَكِنْ يَنْبَغِي لِلْإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَحْرِصَ عَلَى هَذِهِ السُّنَنِ الرَّوَاتِبِ لِمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَتَكْمِيلِ نَاقِصِ الْفَرَائِضِ. وَإِذَا فَاتَتْ سُنَّةُ الْفَجْرِ فَأَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ، إِنْ شِئْتَ فَاقْضِهَا إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الْفَجْرَ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَخِّرْهَا، لَكِنَّ الْغَالِبَ أَنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ إِذَا أَخَّرَهَا يَنْسَى أَوْ يَنْشَغِلَ، وَالْأَمْرُ مَا دَامَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِيهِ نَهْيٌ لِأَنَّهَا ذَاتُ سَبَبٍ وَتَابِعَةٌ لِلصَّلَاةِ فَصَلِّهَا بَعْدَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الْفَجْرَ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.

Chapter on the merits of the regular Sunnah prayers alongside the obligatory ones, detailing their minimum and maximum forms, as well as the variations in between.
وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: إِنْ صَلَّيْتَ رَاتِبَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرْبَعٌ، وَإِنْ صَلَّيْتَهَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَكْعَتَانِ؛ لِأَنَّ الرَّسُولَ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا فِي الْبَيْتِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ،
Some scholars suggest that if you perform the regular Friday Sunnah in the mosque, you should pray four units, but if you pray at home, two suffice, as the Messenger (peace be upon him) would pray two units at home.
وَقَالَ: «صَلُّوا بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَرْبَعًا»، فَإِنْ صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرْبَعٌ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَكْعَتَانِ، وَالْأَمْرُ فِي هَذَا وَاسِعٌ - إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ - لَكِنْ يَنْبَغِي لِلْإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَحْرِصَ عَلَى هَذِهِ السُّنَنِ الرَّوَاتِبِ لِمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَتَكْمِيلِ نَاقِصِ الْفَرَائِضِ.
He also said, 'Pray four units after Friday.' Thus, if one prays in the mosque, four is appropriate, whereas at home, two is sufficient. There is flexibility in this matter, God willing, yet one should strive to maintain these regular Sunnah prayers for the immense good they provide and for compensating for any shortcomings in the obligatory prayers.
