مُلَاحَظَاتِي: أَتَخَيَّلُ أَنَّ الزَّمَانَ عَادَ إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ أَلْفًا وَمِئَةَ عَامٍ، ثُمَّ سَافَرْتُ إِلَى مَدِينَةِ حَلَبَ فِي الشَّامِ، وَفِي بِلَاطِ سَيْفِ الدَّوْلَةِ الْحَمْدَانِيِّ شَاهَدْتُ الشَّاعِرَ الْمُتَنَبِّيَ وَتَاقَتْ نَفْسِي لِلْحَدِيثِ مَعَهُ، وَقَدْ حَصَلَ ذَلِكَ. أُدَوِّنُ هُنَا الْأَسْئِلَةَ الْخَمْسَةَ الْأُولَى الَّتِي طَرَحْتُهَا عَلَيْهِ. رَابِعًا: أَكْتُبُ فِي الْفَرَاغَاتِ الْكَلِمَاتِ الْمَبْدُوءَةَ بِهَمْزَةِ وَصْلٍ: أَحْمَدُ، افْتِتَاحٌ، إِلَى، الرِّيَاضُ، ابْنٌ. وَصْلُ الْهَمْزَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ الْكَلِمَةِ. خَامِسًا.

My notes: I imagine time turning back eleven hundred years, then traveling to the city of Aleppo in the Levant. In the court of Sayf al-Dawla al-Hamdani, I saw the poet al-Mutanabbi and longed to speak with him—and it actually happened.
