الدَّرْسُ ١: رِحْلَةُ حَبَّةِ قَمْحٍ. أَنَا حَبَّةُ قَمْحٍ صَفْرَاءُ، نَاعِمَةُ الْمَلْمَسِ، يَبْذُرُنِي الْفَلَّاحُ فِي الْأَرْضِ، وَيُغَطِّينِي بِالتُّرَابِ، يَسْقِينِي بِالْمَاءِ فَتَنْمُو جُذُورِي، ثُمَّ تَنْمُو سَاقِي؛ لِتَشُقَّ طَرِيقَهَا إِلَى سَطْحِ الْأَرْضِ وَيَزْدَادُ طُولِي، وَتَتَفَرَّعُ أَوْرَاقِيَ الْخَضْرَاءُ وَتَكْبُرُ. أَمْلَأُ الْحُقُولَ بِسَنَابِلِيَ الَّتِي تَبْقَى تَحْتَ أَشِعَّةِ الشَّمْسِ، لِتَجِفَّ وَتُصْبِحَ صَفْرَاءَ ذَهَبِيَّةً.
