خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ بِسَلَامٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْكُفَّارِ الَّذِينَ تَجَمَّعُوا حَوْلَ بَيْتِهِ؛ لِيَضْرِبُوهُ ضَرْبَةَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَهُمْ مِنْ قَبَائِلَ شَتَّى؛ لِيَتَوَزَّعَ دَمُهُ عَلَى الْقَبَائِلِ، وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعَ بَنُو هَاشِمٍ أَنْ يُطَالِبُوا بِدَمِهِ، وَبِذَلِكَ يَقْضُونَ عَلَى دَعْوَتِهِ.

The Prophet emerged safely from the midst of the disbelievers who had gathered around his house, intending to strike him down together. They were from various tribes so that his blood would be shared among them, preventing the Banu Hashim from seeking retribution and thereby ending his mission.
