أَضْوَاءٌ مِنَ الْمَوْلِدِ السَّعِيدِ.

Lights from the blessed birth.

وَا رَحْمَتَاهُ لِسَيِّدِ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ وَخَاتَمِ الرُّسُلِ؛ لَا يَنْعَمُ بِأُمِّهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سِتَّةِ أَعْوَامٍ!

Oh, what mercy for the master of the mujahideen and the seal of the messengers; he did not enjoy his mother for more than six years!

أَحَسِبْتَ أَنَّهُ نَعِمَ بِأُمِّهِ خِلَالَ هَذِهِ الْأَعْوَامِ السِّتَّةِ؟

Do you think he truly enjoyed his mother during those six years?

أَلَمْ تَمُتِ السَّيِّدَةُ «آمِنَةُ» وَهُوَ فِي السَّادِسَةِ مِنْ عُمُرِهِ؟

Did Lady Aminah not die when he was only six years old?

بَلَى. وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَنْعَمْ بِهَا فِي تِلْكَ السِّنِينَ الْقَلِيلَةِ.

Indeed, but he did not enjoy her presence during those few years.

الْآنَ ذَكَرْتُ مَا حَدَّثْتَنَا بِهِ فِي الْعَامِ الْمَاضِي.

I just remembered what you told us last year.

مَاذَا ذَكَرْتَ، يَا «صَلَاحُ»؟

What do you remember, Salah?

ذَكَرْتُ أَنَّ «رَشَادًا» قَالَ لَنَا فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمَاضِي، إِنَّ أُمَّ الرَّسُولِ ﷺ قَدْ جَفَّ لَبَنُهَا حُزْنًا عَلَى مَوْتِ زَوْجِهَا، فَلَمْ يَظْفَرْ مِنْهَا، فِي زَمَنِ رَضَاعَتِهِ، بِمَا يَظْفَرُ بِهِ الطِّفْلُ مِنْ لَبَنِ أُمِّهِ، وَإِنَّهَا وَكَلَتْهُ إِلَى جَارِيَةِ عَمِّهِ «أَبِي لَهَبٍ» لِتُرْضِعَهُ.

I remember Rashad telling us on this day last year that the Messenger's mother had her milk dry up from grief over her husband's death, so he did not receive the mother's milk a child usually gets during infancy, and that she entrusted him to his uncle Abu Lahab's maidservant to nurse him.

وَالْآنَ ذَكَرْتُ مَا قَالَهُ «رَشَادٌ» بِمُنَاسَبَةِ تِلْكَ الذِّكْرَى الْخَالِدَةِ.

Now I remember what Rashad said on the occasion of that eternal memory.

مَاذَا قَالَ؟

What did he say?

أَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْنَا أَنَّ إِرَادَةَ اللَّهِ – سُبْحَانَهُ - قَدْ سَخَّرَتْ جَارِيَةَ «أَبِي لَهَبٍ» لِتَحْفَظَ حَيَاةَ الرَّسُولِ مِنَ التَّلَفِ، وَلِتُتِيحَ لَهُ فُرْصَةَ الْقَضَاءِ عَلَى ذَلِكَ الطَّاغِيَةِ الَّذِي أَهْلَكَهُ الْغَيْظُ حِينَ سَمِعَ انْتِصَارَ الرَّسُولِ فِي غَزْوَةِ «بَدْرٍ»؟

Did he not tell us that the will of Allah—glory be to Him—ordained that Abu Lahab's maidservant would preserve the Messenger's life, allowing him the chance to eventually overcome that tyrant, who was consumed by rage upon hearing of the Messenger's victory at the Battle of Badr?

مَا أَعْجَبَ تَصَارِيفَ الْأَقْدَار!

How wondrous are the turns of fate!

لِلَّهِ فِي خَلْقِهِ شُئُونٌ.

Allah has His own ways in His creation.

رَضَاعَتُهُ فِي الْبَادِيَةِ.

His nursing in the desert.

وَقَدْ هَيَّأَ اللَّهُ لِرَسُولِهِ إِحْدَى الْبَدَوِيَّاتِ اللَّاتِي يَقْدَمْنَ عَلَى «مَكَّةَ» فِي مَوْسِمَيْنِ – مِنْ كُلِّ عَامٍ - لِيُرْضِعْنَ أَبْنَاءَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ، وَعَطَّفَ قَلْبَهَا عَلَى ذَلِكَ الرَّضِيعِ، فَصَحِبَتْهُ مَعَهَا لِتُرْضِعَهُ بِلَا أَجْرٍ.

Allah prepared for His Messenger one of the Bedouin women who came to Mecca twice a year to nurse the children of the wealthy, and He inclined her heart toward the infant, so she took him with her to nurse him without pay.

وَقَدْ لَقِيَتْ مِنَ اللَّهِ، عَلَى عَمَلِهَا، أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا.

She received a great reward from Allah for her deed.

صَدَقْتَ.

فَقَدْ يَسَّرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا وَلِقَوْمِهَا كُلَّ خَيْرٍ، وَحَالَفَتِ الْبَرَكَةُ أَغْنَامَهُمْ وَنَبَاتَهُمْ فِي الْبَادِيَةِ، فَسَمِنَتِ الْأَغْنَامُ، وَكَثُرَ النَّبَاتُ.

Allah granted her and her people every good; blessings attended their flocks and their pastures in the desert, so the sheep grew fat and the vegetation flourished.
