Tha'lab narrated: 'He fell on his rear', as is in the manuscripts, and the correct reading is 'He fell on his rear' if he fell on his back.
وهو يائي لأن ياءه لام، ولو حمل على الواو لكان وجها فإن الواو في كساء أكثر من الياء
It is yā'ī because its 'yā' is its 'lām', and if it were carried over to 'wāw', it would be a valid interpretation, for the 'wāw' in كساء is more common than the 'yā'.
