وإنما قضينا بأن ألفها منقلبة عن ياء لأنها مجهولة الانقلاب، وهي في موضع اللام، وإذا كانت ياء في موضع اللام فانقلابها عن الياء أكثر منه عن الواو.
And we have concluded that its alif is a conversion from a ya' because its origin is unknown, and it is in the position of the lam. And if it is a ya' in the position of the lam, then its conversion from a ya' is more common than from a waw.
