A well-known garment, it is said with the 'ha' affirmed, and it is said with it omitted. The plural is 'firaa', like 'sahm' and 'sihaam'. It comes in types, including: sable, ermine, stoat, squirrel, camel, and ferret; the first are the highest quality. These are skins of animals that are tanned, sewn, and used to make clothes, which they wear to ward off the cold.
والفروة: (جلدة الرأس) بما عليه من الشعر يكون للإنسان وغيره؛
And 'al-farwah': the skin of the head, with the hair on it, for humans and others;
دنس الثياب كأن فروة رأسه غرست فأنبت جانباها فلفلا
Dirty of clothes, as if the scalp of his head was planted and its sides sprouted pepper.
وقد تستعار لجلدة الوجه؛ ومنه الحديث: (أن الكافر إذا قرب المهل من فيه سقطت فروة وجهه).
And it may be used metaphorically for the skin of the face; and from this is the hadith: (When the molten metal is brought near the unbeliever's mouth, the skin of his face will fall off).
والفروة: (الأرض البيضاء) اليابسة، (ليس بها نبات) ولا برش؛
And 'al-farwah': the white, dry land, which has no vegetation or grass;
إن الخضر جلس على فروة بيضاء فاهتزت تحته خضراء
Indeed, Al-Khidr sat on a white patch of land, and it became green beneath him.
والفروة: (الغنى، والثروة) إبدال؛ قال الفراء: إنه لذو فروة من المال وثروة بمعنى؛
And 'al-farwah': wealth and abundance, as a substitute. Al-Farra' said: He possesses great wealth and abundance.
والفراء أيضا جمع فرا لحمار الوحش.
And 'al-firaa' is also the plural of 'fara' for the wild donkey.
إذا التف دون الفتاة الكميع ووحوح ذو الفروة الأرمل
When the cowardly one wraps himself around the maiden, and the one with the fur robe moans.
وهامة} فروتها! كالفروة
And his head! Its fur! Like the fur.

He is poor even if he hoards treasures and wears the crown of Anushirvan, meaning his crown, and it was so named because it was made of leather.

Indeed, the slave girl threw off the covering of her head from behind the wall
أي قناعها أو خمارها، أي تبذلت وخرجت بغير تلفع كالحرة.
Meaning her veil or headscarf, meaning she was immodest and went out without covering herself like a free woman.
وجبة {مفراة) ، بالتشديد: أي (عليها فروة.
And a robe 'mufrah', with emphasis: meaning it has fur on it.
وافترى فروا) حسنا: (لبسه) ؛
And he wore beautiful fur: meaning he put it on;
المفتري لا يجد البرد: أي لابس الفروة؛
The one wearing fur does not feel the cold: meaning the wearer of the fur coat;
يقلب أولاهن لطم الأعسر قلب الخراساني فرو المفتري
He turns the first of them, striking the left-handed one, like the Khurasani wearing the fur of the one who wears fur.

It is a small town in the border region of Khurasan, adjacent to Khwarazm, and known in Persian as 'Farawuh' with two 'waws', the first of which is dammah. It has a ribat built by Abdullah ibn Tahir during the caliphate of Al-Ma'mun,
الفراوي صاحب رباطها عن حميد بن زنجويه وغيره؛
Al-Farawi, the master of its ribat, from Hamid ibn Zanjawayh and others;
ومنها أبو الفضل محمد بن الفضل الفراوي الإمام المشهور ذو الكنى راوية صحيح مسلم

And 'Al-Farra'': one who makes fur; also one who sells it. A group of hadith narrators have also been attributed to this nisba,
وأما أبو زكريا يحيى بن زياد بن عبد الله الكوفي اللغوي فإنه قيل له الفراء لأنه كان يفري الكلام فهو إذا من فرى يفري محله في التركيب الذي بعده؛
As for Abu Zakariya Yahya ibn Ziyad ibn Abdullah Al-Kufi, the linguist, he was called Al-Farra' because he would dissect speech, meaning he would analyze it, and his place is in the subsequent composition;
وإسحاق بن محمد بن إسماعيل بن عبد الله بن أبي فروة القرشي {الفروي مولى عثمان ثقة عن مالك؛
And Ishaq ibn Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Farwah Al-Qurashi, Al-Farawi, the freed slave of Uthman, is reliable, narrating from Malik;

Fazawah, with Fath: the grandfather of Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn Yusuf ibn Al-Nadr ibn Fazawah Al-Fazawi Al-Nisaburi, from the people of Afran, attributed to his grandfather. He heard from Ibrahim ibn Sa'd Al-Nisaburi, and his grandson Abu Al-Azhar Ahmad ibn Ahmad ibn Umar Al-Ifrani narrated from him, dying in the year 320.
