Abu 'Urwah's scaring of the beasts of prey when he feared they would mix with the sheep.

And he made a handle for the waterskin: he fashioned a handle for it;

عراه الأمر يعروه: غشيه وأصابه.

The matter afflicted him, it afflicts him: it befell him and struck him.

واعتراه: خبله.

And it corrupted him: it spoiled him.

وأعرى الرجل: إذا حم.

And the man had a fever: if he became feverish.

وليـلة عرية: باردة.

And a night 'uriyyah: cold.

وأعرينا: أصابنا ذلك؛
