He is the one who raises his head and chest to confront a thing, looking at it.

Its echoes were deafened, its traces faded, and it became unintelligible to the questioner's speech.
وهي الهامة والذكر {الصدى، فيصيح على قبره: اسقوني اسقوني، فإن قتل قاتله كف عن صياحه.
And it is the 'haamah', and the male 'sadā', crying over his grave: 'Give me water, give me water.' If his killer is killed, he stops crying.

And their prayer at the House was not but whistling and clapping.
و (أصم الله} صداه)
And (May God make his echo deaf).
ودهم {تصاديها الولائد جلة إذا جهلت أجوافها لم تحلم
And they would bring them, the maids would flatter them, large pots, when their insides were unknown, they were not patient.
أيا عز} صادي القلب حتى يودني فؤادك أو ردي علي فؤاديا
O عز, flatterer of the heart until your heart loves me, or return my heart to me.
من {صاداك فقد صادك.
Whoever flatters you has deceived you.
و (أصدى) الرجل: (مات)

والصدى: الصوت مطلقا.

It has, whenever it cries out, a 'sadāh' and a stillness.
المصدية: التي {تصدي الوسادة بالأرندج أي الخطوط السود على الأدم.
The 'masdiyyah': that which decorates the pillow with black lines on leather.

وبه فسر قول تعالى: {صاد} ، عند من يقول إنه أمر من} المصاداة.
And with this, the saying of God Almighty is interpreted: 'Sād', for those who say it is a command from 'al-musādāh'.
وذلك أنه كره أن يعقلها فيعنتها أو يتركها فتند في الأرض فيأكل الذئب ولدها، فذلك} مصاداته إياها
And that is because he disliked tying her up and causing her distress, or leaving her to wander in the land so that the wolf would eat her offspring, so that is his 'musādāh' of her.
والصدو: سم تسقاه النصال كدم الأسود
And the 'sadu': a poison with which spearheads are coated, like black blood.
وبه فسر البخاري الآية في صحيحه.
And with this, Al-Bukhari interpreted the verse in his Sahih.
وأنشد أبو الهيثم لحسان: صلاتهم التصدي والمكاء
And Abu Al-Haytham recited for Hassan: Their prayer is clapping and whistling.
