The true one is that which the body cannot do without, like the desire for food when hungry.
والكاذبة ما لا يختل من دونه وقد يسمى المشتهى شهوة
And the false one is that which the body can do without, and the object of desire may be called desire.
وقد يقال للقوة التي تشتهي الشيء شهوة
And the power that desires something may be called desire.
زين للناس حب الشهوات
Adorned for people is the love of desires.

وموسى شهوات: شاعر م معروف، هو موسى بن يسار مولى بني تيم، لقب به بقوله ليزيد بن معاوية: لست منا وليس خالك منا يا مضيع الصلاة للشهوات
And Musa Shahawaat: a known poet, he is Musa ibn Yasar, a freedman of Banu Taym, he was given this nickname by his saying to Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah: You are not from us, and your maternal uncle is not from us, O you who neglects prayer for desires.

And 'shaahaahu' 'mushaahaatan': he resembled him.

And as 'shahaa' like 'ghuraf'; Abu Hayyan transmitted it in Sharh al-Tasheel.
وأنشد لامرأة من بني نصر بن معاوية: فلولا الشهى والله كنت جديرة بأن أترك اللذات في كل مشهد
And he recited for a woman from Banu Nasr ibn Mu'awiyah: If not for the desires, by God, I would have been worthy of abandoning pleasures in every scene.

And it is a rare plural, and its parallel is 'sahwah' and 'sahaa' as will come.

And 'ma ashhaahaa' and 'ma ashhaanii lahaa'; Sibawayh said: When you say 'ma ashhaahaa ilayya', you are only informing that it is 'mutashahhaah', and it is as if it is based on 'shahiyy', even if it is not spoken. So 'ma ashhaahaa' is like 'ma ahzaahaa', and when you say 'ma ashhaanii', you are informing that you are 'shaahin'.
وهذا شيء يشهي الطعام: أي يحمل على اشتهائه، نقله الجوهري
And this is something that 'yushhi' food: meaning it leads to desiring it, transmitted by Al-Jawhari.
